- I have been having trouble with this message. I start in Verbose mode and the machine loads until I get this message. It continues ad infinitum. So I re-installed Snow Leopard disks - not a complete diskwipe - just a re-install. I have done this a couple of times.
- Still waiting for root device Still waiting for root device Still waiting for root device.forever and ever amen! That was NOT fun to type! Can anyone translate and decipher from that what might be wrong? Ibook G4 Mac OS X (10.4) airport card.

Mac Os X Install Still Waiting For Root Device
I've installed OS X 10.13.6 to my windows drive as a second system, and added clover files to my local efi partition.
When trying to boot mac OS using that efi partition i get a 'Still waiting for root device'.
Solutions I've tried:
- Setting the root device manually (-rd diskXsY)
- Installing SATA kexts (although I'm not sure if they were the right ones, I'll edit this post with a list when I'm home)
- Adding drivers to clover (APFS, HDTPlus)
- Using boot flags (-x, -USBFix..., etc. [I'll get a complete list when I'm home])
The disk I'm using is an ADATA SU800 0.5TB SSD.
